For those of you who haven’t been scowering my Flickr account…then these pictures will seem new to you. I usually upload my pictures and then quickly write a post…however, I went to Richmond to visit my parents an hour after uploading and here it is two days later and I am just getting around to writing a post. Oh well….

For the last few years on my birthday I have gotten my girlie friends together to go out to my favorite restaurant for dessert and wine. I love getting dressed up and getting as many of my favorite gals around me as possible. No formal parties or presents needed, I am getting too old for parties, I would much rather have a total girls night.

This year I thought it would be fun to have a shin dig at my new place. The house we bought is an old 1920’s Craftsman style home. We have a really huge porch that is just begging to be broken in. So I sent out the invites for the girls to don their best cleavage baring dresses and come on over for lots of this.

My very talented friend, Candace, (check out her decorating skillz….) came over to help me decorate and make her famous cupcakes. Everyone brought over a bottle of wine and an appetizer or dessert. There were some GOOD EATS!!! Can I just mention that 75% of my guests were pregnant or breastfeeding. Let’s just say Bennett got formula that night, mama was going to have some wine…period!

The color scheme was teal, red and pink. Check it out.

Unfortunately I did not get pictures of everyone…sorry! I don’t even get a picture of myself…party foul! To my bff ladies far and wide that live too far to be here…man did we miss you.

I have to tell you about my favorite thing that happened all night. I told the girls on the invitation that there would be no talk of babies or children…this was adult time. However, HOWEVER….I heard over and over “We are not suppose to talk about this…BUT….I just have to say REAL QUICK…that my baby……blahdity blah blah blah.” Way to go girls. You’re all oaks.

Honorary host..Candace. She took the cleavage thing literally! I almost censored her. She is 9 months preggo. Way to bring the twins Can. Her tan makes me seethe with jealousy.

Amanda…surprisingly…talking! Amanda is the kind of friend who can talk to anyone about anything, seriously…try her…throw out any topic. You just want to take a breath for her once an awhile.

My favorite cleavage bearing friend, G-Love. Gretchen finds it completely hilarious (I mean annoying) that every year I call her out for not baring cleavage. She could put us all to shame. I love to beat a dead horse,(shocker) so of course I make a big deal about it EVERY year. What G, is this 10 years in a row you have covered your jublees up?

I am coming up the rear on this….but as the old adage says, “better late than never.”

Last time January served as the month to come clean out of the closet. I am talking about you. The one who thinks one way intimacy is okey dokey. Well I am hear to tell you I don’t fart in the wind. If I am going to take the time to spill my guts, exploit my family, and bestow the wisdom of 31 glorious years…then you…dear, silent, but sweet reader….need to out yourself. Schumutzie over at MilkMoney came up with the Great Mo-Fo Delurk and today is the day. Check out my gniffty button. RED…I love!

Now I could call you out city by city, url by url from my handy dandy stats machine….but I won’t reduce this down to 7th grade. You just have no idea that I know, that you know, that I know, that YOU regularly lurk on my blog. Oh there are girls at my church that think they are so sneaky….but I know. I am like the great Oz.

Now as I give my speech about commenting I am as guilty as you. My bloglines are full of blogs I read and never once have made a peep on. So shame on me (slaps hands) For you 50 or so regular commenter’s…..you are amazing. What would I do without you? You are the reason why I keep on keeping on.

So ladies and gents….pony up, many up, grow a pair…whatever you call it. I will make it very easy on you. You don’t have to be witty in the least. Just answer one of these questions….if you could only clothes shop at one place for the rest of your lives….where would it be? If you had to eat at the same restaurant for dinner every night…..what restaurant and what is your favorite dish? Secret vacation you are dying to take if money were no object?

Okay…I have faith in you. You can do it. Baby steps to freedom, baby steps.

Yes indeedy folks….the blessed event has finally arrived. Can you smell the sarcasm and awkwardness of The Office season premiere. Oh man oh man, it is almost sad how excited I am. Is this a litmus test of my life? You know you feel the same way. Oh Dwight, how I love thee. Tomorrow…I want to hear your thoughts. Jim and Pam????? They better not drag this out for a 4th year, we can just taste a romance and it is so good on the tongue. DON’T CALL ME, DON’T DIE ON ME, DON’T GET NEEDY ON ME from 9:00-10:00pm. Don’t think you are funny calling either because my phone will be on silence. Take me out of your will, I don’t
care (well maybe I do…I mean I got a kid on the way, have mercy!)

Okay so I get a package in the mail yesterday. I LOVE packages, I absolutely suck at sending them, but I am a very very grateful receiver of them. Ms. Sassy Molassy, Jessica, from O Mama Mia decided to send me a belated b-day gift ( I love September birthdays!!!). This was the most amazing package full of wonderful, fun, girly gifts. Jess…seriously, what genre did you not hit? I am in love. A cheetah dish, how FUN! Coffee, tea, candle, bath scents, girly dish washing gloves, earrings, pen, a giant lollipop, which makes me think of Zoolander when he is tripping out and Will Ferrel is dressed up as a little kid “I want to work”. My favorites…the CD’s. I got the new worship CD by Matt Redman and Jess’s daughter Starlet sent Chloe the Dan Zanes children’s CD. We have already spun both disks and we give them two enthusiastic thumbs up. I owe you a call Jess to thank you “in person” but I had to brag on you for a moment. Thank you SO very much for your thoughtfulness, generosity, and encouragement. I feel so blessed. Check out my booty. Not the one attached to me silly kids.

Lastly, I got one sick little tootie on my hands. It started Sunday with some “irritability” which I will be honest, even on Chloe’s worst day she is a gem. Bottom line she has run a fever of 102-103.3 for several days, it finally broke yesterday but she is still very irritable and having trouble staying asleep. The doctor says it is viral and may even be roseola. Let’s hope not. So far, so good on not getting a rash since the fever broke. I hate when she is sick.

Okay, last random thing. I have consulted the hair guru, Whoorl, about my pending cut and color visit in 2 weeks. She does “Hair Thursdays” but is booked so she is doing some online consulting with me. I am seriously, seriously contemplating a radical do. I have always wanted to go much more funky than my current style which I have basically had for 10 years, just varying lengths and colors. I don’ t know if it is the hormones talking or if it is time to shed tradition. I got the idea for my hair when I was in NY this summer and I saw my cousin who is a dead ringer for me. I am not kidding, it is so eerie how much we look alike, she even has a nose ring like me and she was cursed with the same crescent moon profile I have a.k.a.- No freaking chin! I am very self conscious about my profile, I know, even at 31 I still have my hangups.

Anyway, I fell in love with her hair and Ryan really likes it. I realized maybe I could pull off something shorter and funkier. The problem is: A-she is a size 2 B-she is 18 C-she dresses like Avril Lavign so her look is pretty consistent head to toe. I vacillate between dressing funky and dressing normal. I just don’ t know if short hair will balance my “pear shape” or not and even though I don’t have the wardrobe of Sienna Miller, am I funky enough? So have a gander, tell me what you think. I am not doing the hair color craziness she did, just the cut.

I do love my long hair, it is feminine and versatile….but I don’t know….I just don’t know what to do. It would take forever to grow back out if it looks awful….but if it looks great, I will be so psyched! HELP!!!!!!
