There are two ways to write an about page. One where you list off all the random fun facts about yourself and one where you write a biography. Which to choose, which to choose? Maybe I will do a combo of the two.
I am a 31 year old, first time mom, who is insanely proud of her family, slightly ashamed of her past, and a dreamer about the future. I travel to several countries a day in my mind and imagine myself there learning and exploring different cultures. It isn’t that I don’t like my life, on the contrary, I just have a hard time with the normalcy of living in a small town in Virginia. Americans make up 7% of the worlds population, the other 93% are living totally different lifestyles. I want to learn about that.
* Horrendous grammar/spelling skills
* Can’t curl my tongue
* Four tattoos
* Broke my nose, wrist, rib, foot, and toes
* Organization is an aphrodisiac to me
I am a Christian, which people conveniently like to call themselves in the south because they attend church. That ain’t me. American doesn’t equal Christian. I have a relationship with Jesus and that flows into all areas of my life. My 20’s were spent globe trotting and living for myself while having the ultimate social apartment…then I realized how selfish I was and how lonely life was apart from God and got my act together. At 29, God give me the most amazing husband in the world, who happens to be hysterically funny and Lord knows why, but he finds me incredibly witty and charming. At 30 I was blessed with the most beautiful, sweet, and funny daughter, Chloe Grace. Words can not describe the soul satisfaction I feel when I look at my husband and daughter. There is no way I deserve them, but I can’t imagine life without them.
* Don’t like the color chartreuse
* I think the smell of gasoline is detestable
* My favorite movie is Braveheart
* I wish I could get away with a pixie cut and dressing like Sienna Miller
I have always had a creative side that started out with my Lightbright and mosaic tiles and morphed into interior decorating, oil painting and photography….more recently sewing. It is my release, my outlet, my expression. Color and music speak to me in a spiritual way. I see Jesus in nature, in art, and in song. There my soul is at rest.
* I have always wanted a pet monkey
* Special education was the most rewarding career of my life (motherhood first)
* I find celebrity gossip fascinating
* I have a hard time not being tan all year round, pasty fat is not as attractive as tan fat.
* I have an unnatural fear of the dark and camel crickets….those horrible, horrible, demon like creatures. SHUDDER
I blog because I can, I blog because it is cathartic, I blog because I find humor in most things and enjoy making people laugh or at least unbuckle their belts a little bit and relax. I suppose every blogger wants to be famous, who writes for the heck of it to have nobody read? I suppose that is my humanity. I do pray that whoever reads and comes back is encouraged, inspired or just glad they escaped into my crazy take on the world for a few minutes.
