When is that moment that you pass from infancy to toddlerhood to childhood. There are moments I look at Chloe and I don’t know when it happened, but it did. Just a mere 20 months ago she was born in to the world.
Last week as we were hanging out on the porch I saw a little girl. One mindlessly eating pretzels, chatting away, getting on and off of a chair, nothing really special…but she looked so old! It is exciting and sad all at once.
With her growing independence I get more thrilled that we can communicate more, but with independence comes a stubborn will. She definitely has some donkey in her! Like mother like daughter.
I love her neck…it is so pretty.
She will kill me for this one day. Her little knock knees….like mother like daughter!
And so time goes marching on and so my little girl grows, learns and expands her world. I am so thankful to have a daughter. One that is so sweet, funny, sensitive, and intelligent. She teaches me patience, joy, love and how to laugh from my belly.
I realize the last few posts have been a bit melancholy. I don’t apologize for such things. So many things the Lord is teaching me and a deep appreciation for those around me and my family has swept over me. Ramey’s death has been a wake up call on many levels and I am so thankful.

My my, she has grown into such a little lady. I love her outfit and especially her shoes. You’re raising her up right!
But really, it’s so nice to read about how much you love your daughter and the delight she brings to your life. I could just pinch those little legs of hers!
Oh gosh, is she cute or what?? Love the little peep toe shoes - and those legs!! What great pictures!
What a beautiful post, and I love the pictures too!!! Hope you are enjoying each new day with your little ones. Miss your blogging, but am happy to see that you’ve been so wrapped up in family!!! Have a wonderful summer. ps. I love the shoes on Chloe!! She’s adorable. I’m sure she’s the cutest thing in a swimsuit too. Ya know, they just don’t make cute suits for boys. lol… we’ve gotten to the place where we just throw both of the boys into Cars underwear and let them swim like that! hahaha… I think we fall into the “might be a redneck if…” category!
What a gorgeous little girl! Peace to you, Kelly.
She is a little girl now! WOW!!!
I love the knee photo. If I have a little girl, he knees will look just like that too!
Great photos!
And I love her shoes! too cute!
hahaha my legs look just like that!!
i can’t take this. she’s too big. and, she’s more gorgeous each day, kel! loveeeeeeeee the leg picture. she will, in fact, wanna kill you for that. but, perhaps it’ll be motivation to work out cuz….one day….that won’t be cute.
Just beautiful… she’s such a little angel! You know, my knees look exactly like that, but somehow I believe my darling daughter is going to be blessed with long legs like her daddy! Go Caroline! I can always live vicariously through her, buying her regular length pants and never having to get them hemmed. sigh. What a treat that will be! But I digress.
I think you and I are in the same place right now. God is really testing me right now. He is showing me how I so often focus on things that are so small and ridiculous in the grand scheme of things. He has been so good to me and so often I take it for granted. Ramey was such an example of how we need to live and trust in Him in EVERY SINGLE aspect of our life.
I’ll be praying for you!
Oh my gosh! I wish my legs looked that cute in a skirt! WOW! SHe is a doll! Girl, y’all make beautiful babies!
She is such a sweetie.
I feel your pain at seeing how grown up she is.
My little Cheekers will be turning 2, on month from tomorrow. Of course, I turn, gasp, 38, tomorrow so I am wondering where my lifetime went. LOL
I look at my little man & realize he is becoming a boy. Where did the 1st two years go?????
I can’t believe how big she is now…How big she had got since I started reading your blog. I started reading from a link on your siggy in the November gingersnaps 06. I will always, always be a devoted reader.
Absolutely beautiful children.
Ir does happen too quickly. She does look very much ‘girl’ in those photos. She is gorgeous.
Chlo is SO precious! I love that you said it’s sad and exciting all at the same time about her growing up. I feel that feeling EVERYDAY with Jaia. He is SUCH a little boy now, not a baby, but always my baby.
Love her shoes!
The chubby knees shot is totally gorgeous. Thanks for the happy shots.
I was just reading the Ramey stuff you wrote and some of the stuff on her husband’s blog. I am crying as I type - my throat is sore from trying not to sob.
One of my 17 year old daughters friends died suddenly 5 weeks ago and we only found out today it was an anyurism (sp?). My daughter and her friends have really struggled with this and a sadder funeral I cannot imagine. So, so sad - looks like a full box of Kleenex day today.
Love,
Jude x
Can you believe our babies are 20 months old now?! Holy Cow, where did time go? By the way, I’m terribly envious of your GORGEOUS bungalow! We’re in a new-build right now, and someday I hope to find a charming cottage that is in some perfect neighborhood. Thus far, I have found perfect neighborhoods with blah houses, and perfect houses in not so lovely neighborhoods. Hope you got both!
Take care of you and yours!!
Awwwww what a cutie! She reminds me a lot of my little Annie. Not sure what it is about Chloe’s face but I see a lot of Annie in her! There is no turning point you just wake up and there grown up!!
Um, she dresses better than me and I think her hair is cuter too!
I have felt the same way about my little boy, he just turned 4 and is riding a bike and man, when did that happen?! So fun.
I love the natural pictures - Chloe’s so precious!
I love reading your blog too!
Seriously, my future children will never be this beautiful (and will never read these posts i leave either… lol)
Hey there!
I just stumbled across your blog the other day and I LOVE it! You are so entertaining at 2:00pm when the office is slow and I just don’t want to work anymore :o)
What kind of camera do you use? Better question… what kind of photo editing software do you use? I’ve been getting into photography lately and just bought myself a Canon Rebel xT but I want to make my pictures so vibrantly colored like yours! Just how do you do it?! I’m dying to know!
