YAWN….

I’m sorry, did you stop in AGAIN hoping to see a shiny little boys face looking back at you? Yeah, me too. Unfortunately, I am sitting miserably on my chaise letting you know that I too am waiting and waiting for my little guy to bust through my uterus. The last 1.5 days have been eerily clam “down there”. Even Bennett his hardly making moves. I know that is pretty typical at the end…just another “sign” of things to come.

So I don’t want to leave you hanging, we are a week out from my due date so it has to happen by next weekend one way or the other. I am still confident he is going to come on his own.

I picked my mom up yesterday so she is here to help me with Chloe and let me get a little more sleep and now it is one less thing for me to stress about in my mind about her not getting here in time for the birth. It is Friday again, so this could work out good with Ryan’s days off from work. The joke is that 20/20 is on tonight. My water broke with Chloe at 10:00pm on a Friday night during 20/20 so now it is my omen of impending birth. Let’s hope…I will let Barbara Walters and Hugh Downs be the “sign” of my labor, it could be worse.

Whelp, I just sipped my last bit of coffee, had my morning poo, and now it is time to face the day with my extremely allergy ridden little girl. Her poor little face is oozing all sorts of funk, she is miserable! Who knew that an 18 month old could get seasonal allergies. This is were Virginia puts you on your butt. Horrible pollen season!

Have a great weekend, I promise we will blog from the hospital. I am just terrible at emails and IM right now so thank you all for who have checked on me, but I am not mustering the energy to write back right now. So forgive me. To all my girlfriends and family….keep your cellphones charged!!!!

Well, at least you’re still pooing. I’m sending labor vibes your way, sweets. Glad to know your mom is there to help, so put those feet up and just chillax. You deserve it. Lily’s been having some allergy issues as well and I’ve been using saline and the snot sucker to help clear some of the allergens out of her nose. It’s like wrestling a wet cat, but I know it helps.

Thanks for the update. You know it could happen today, I do remember you asking a little more than a week ago for him to be born on Friday. So, God decided this Friday would be better? Friday babies are wonderful!! How’s the little poem go? All I know is that Wednesday’s child is FULL of WOE. lol… my little Wed. dude is rather fussy and he’s 3 years old now! As it says, “Friday’s child is loving and giving” I’ve got two Friday babies and for whatever the reason, they’re both the sweetest things (apart from the occasional tantrum, that’s gotta be in the blood though!) Well… I’ll be on the lookout for baby B to grace the pages of your blog. Can’t wait!

Ack! Yep, just constantly checking in. It sounds like although things are going slooowly, they’re going well, so that’s good. Still praying for you!

And I hear you on the allergies. Our city was rated second in the NATION for pollen season this year. Holy crap, right? I had to turn the A/C on, which I hated to do, but we can’t keep the windows open! Sneeze, cough, wheeze.

Glad your mom has arrived! I know she’s just thrilled!

    C’mon labor! C’mon labor!

Hey, my girl gets allergies too and I feel so bad for her. She coughs in her sleep from all the drainage. But the doctor says they can’t really treat her for allergies until she’s two. Hmph. Poor thing.

So glad for you that your mom is there. What a relief that must be! I remember when my Mom got to the hospital (12 hour drive for her, bless her soul!) I felt so relieved and secure…when Mom is there everything goes more smoothly. And poor Chloe, that must be awful for her…they are so helpless and you just want to make them feel better. Come on 20/20…although didn’t Babs retire from that like a year ago and is only doing the “specials” now? How should I know this? I never watch the show! I’m checking my bloglines everyday now in anticipation, come on Bennett, don’t let me down AGAIN. love you, Kel.

John’s allergies were pretty bad at that age too. Next spring (when she’s over 2 years old) you can give her OTC allergy medicine (claritin or zrytec) John’s is currently taking singulair, and he’s doing great with it. Can’t wait to see you and Bennett at the hospital. My mother-in-law is working this weekend, so I told her to be on the lookout for you.

  12. 12 O Mama Mia Apr 25th, 2008 at 2:16 pm

I’m so sorry! We’ve stopped ALL activity in the nethers as well. And I’m over by 2 days. And my Dad has already had to go back home. And my Mama leaves on the first. And the in-laws come on the 30th (AAUUGGHH!!!!). WHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAH!!!!!!!! So totally trying NOT to get frustrated (she says as she laughs at the lies she tells herself.).
Sending vibes your way since they left my house.
As for allergies, we LOVE LOVE LOVE pediatric z*rtec for Sophia’s seasonal goop. that schtuff rocks the snot!
Trade me #’s so we can phone tag while in labor!

You do realise don’t you that a sign of impending birth can be when the baby quietens down - like its having a little rest for the big move. It could happen any time! Praying for you, and checking in on your blog every few hours!!!

  14. 14 Rachel Apr 25th, 2008 at 5:51 pm

You poor thing…The waiting game so seriously sucks its not even funny. Hope that Barbara gets the job done!

I feel with you Kel! The last days seem so long. I was overdue with both of mine…you feel like you’re going to be pregnant forever! I think of you every day and feel like a stalker checking your blog sometimes hourly! :) Please know I’m praying with you. I’m glad your mom is able to be with you. It does take away one less stress not to have to wonder who is going to stay with Chloe…I remember feeling the same way.

I love you girl! Can’t wait to meet your little man :)
