Is everyone pregnant?

They say things come in twos and threes…I beg to differ. I am simply surrounded by friends who are pregnant. These are not mere acquaintances, these are very good girlfriends. The wind is blowing in the right direction around these parts.

The first of the domino’s to fall was my friend Jackie who birthed one of the prettiest baby girls I have ever seen on Monday afternoon. I mean Chloe was a cute baby, but she hit her stride later on. Lydia Grace, is a true beauty from moment one.

Look at that hair and skin tone! I am jealous. Again…sending up my requests to the pregnancy gods for Bennett to have a massive head of hair or a killer mohawk like Chloe did.

Sigh…I can’t believe this is us in 10 weeks…holy crap!!! Just walking into the hospital was a serious reality check…this is really happening and nobody is getting this baby out of my belly but me. GULP!

Next up…Holli! I can’t believe you are all the way in Canada and we won’t meet your baby until August…so not fair! 18 more days Holl !!!! They actually have the discipline to wait and see what the gender is going to be. I wish I were that easy going, because it really is exciting to find out in the moment of actually meeting your child.

Then I have two friends due the end of April, including my internet buddy O Mama Mia. Then me, then my sister in law a week later and my other friend the end of May, one in July, two in August, two in September and one in October! I am sure I am forgetting someone.

I am going to be pumping out some serious taggies, burp clothes and custom onesies. Kelly classic gifts.

Onesie embellishment

I already have 6 burp clothes I need to finish for Bennett. But like a mom with too much going on in the house..they are sitting on top of sewing machine taunting me.

So who else done got themselves knocked up? When are you due, how you feeling, what’s the gender, names picked out?

I am feeling the weight (no pun intended) of 3rd trimester and having a toddler. Not to mention all the poor decisions I have made lately to stay up late. Ryan and I got sucked in last night to TLC at 11:00pm watching “My Shocking Story” about a man who was half tree….like he had this crazy skin/wart disease that was turning his body into a tree with roots and knobs hanging off him. SURREAL and so so so sad that some people have to live with such debilitating diseases. It was grossly fascinating and we simply could not turn off the TV even though I was starting to get sick to my stomach when it got to the point where they shaved his thigh like a block of cheese to graft onto his hands. Ummmmmm…..that is so wrong on so many levels and you showed it on TV! I literally squealed and grabbed Ryan’s chest in horror. This did not help my raging heartburn.

Note to self…do not turn to TLC in the wee hours. GO TO FREAKING BED KELLY! So today I think I will actually take a nap. I am the worlds worst napper so we will see if I just lay there solving the worlds mysteries or actually fall into a deep restorative sleep. Send me napping vibes!

I think I just got preggers by reading this post. That’s a heck of a lot of babies! (Note to self: go take your birth control pill. Pronto.)

I’m still gagging at the description of the cheese grating of the leg. You’re making me want to skip breakfast! And everyone knows that is the most important meal of the day.

    HAVE A NAP!

    And?

DON’T WATCH TLC IN THE WEE HOURS!!

Fun about all of the friends being pregnant. That was us two years ago (well, another round this year, bur Matthew and I are DONE)

It’s awesome to go through it all with great friends. Enjoy!

Also? That newborn is all sorts of beautiful.

I’m NOT pregnant! :) The thought is starting to cross my mind again seeing all of you ladies at church with your cute little bumps and getting in touch with my HS classmates to plan a reunion and finding out that every.last.one of them is pregnant or just had a baby! I have my hands full though. I’ll just live vicariously through everyone else for now!

    well kelly…

it was late one night. i was in the wrong part of town. he just came on to me. i tried to resist… but he was SO SO SO SOOOOOOOOOOOO cute. i couldn’t resist. he put the moves on… 3 weeks later i’m puking my brains out…

that bastard will pay in HELL because of what he did to me.

    (this has been a dramatization)

Yeah, I agree that everyone is pregnant. I’m not….

  7. 7 Eileen Feb 21st, 2008 at 1:52 pm

I’m due April 4th and I don’t think I’ve been able to nap since I was 4 years old (that’s a lot of 4s in one sentence). That whole “nap when the baby naps” thing is such a crock. I feel so good this pregnancy, though, even with a 15 month old at home…probably because most nights I’m literally in bed by 8:30.

That is one beautiful baby! I wish I had a friend who could snap some great pictures for us in the hospital. I love the one of daddy and baby.

We don’t know what we’re having either, and the anticipation is killing me! Six more weeks…

I saw the same show a few weeks ago on TLC. I was so grossed out, but couldn’t seem to turn the channel either.

I can’t believe you only have 10 weeks to go. Can’t wait to meet Ben and for you to experience being a mom of a boy.

Count me out! I am not with child but the thought has crossed my mind lately! I still think I’m not ready for the responsibility! But it’s kind of funny how people have babies in clumps.

Lydia is beautiful!! How special to be able to see her so new!
Wow, 10 weeks isn’t very long at all until Mr. Bennett makes his arrival!

TLC has some sort of magic spell it casts when you turn it on! One baby story turns into a whole afternoon! Ugh! :) But Mr. Tree would have probably been too much for me!

  10. 10 Kristin Feb 21st, 2008 at 2:26 pm

That baby is cute. And not all newborns are cute, but she is.

I want to be pregnant! Does that count?

    OMG!
I COULDNT SLEEP AND WATCHED THAT TLC SHOW TOO!!!!
i COULDNT believe they ZOOMED IN to watch the skin get shaved off his freaking LEG!!!!

and then how they literally knifed the skin off of his hand and SHOWED IT!? what the HECK!?

i need to stop right now.
    it was heartbreaking.

If I were pregnant right now, I would cry.

  13. 13 Alison Feb 21st, 2008 at 3:49 pm

Nope - not pregnant here but actively trying (and I mean ACTIVE!!) So if you could send some baby dust my way I’d appreciate it! It’s been nearly 16 months of unprotected sex with nothing to show for it…. gosh if I knew that I would have never wasted all that money on birth control earlier in life LOL

  14. 14 whitney Feb 21st, 2008 at 3:52 pm

I soooo watched that special on TLC last night as well. We were watching “Big Medicine” before that, and just as I was reaching for the remote to turn the tv off WHAM! A man with leaves growing out of his fingers. YUCK! It made me really sad when they said that it was from untreated warts. I mean, come on…

After doing a quick search for warts, I went to bed before the leg shaving. (Thank goodness!) I’m sure it will be on again. Did you see the one last week where the man’s face was a huge tumor?

PS I’m not pregnant…and unless God has a plan for a second immaculate conception I won’t be for a very long time

    Cheers!

Sleep now while you can, girlfriend!!
I am amazed daily that its only 9 more weeks for us… GULP! We’re still praying over the “to C or not to C” debate. Sophia had to be delivered via C & I have no clue whether I should again, or WHAT?!*
I do think its gotta be something in the air. 2 of my cousins just birthed 2 weeks apart & I’m up next in or fam birthing line. EEKKK!!

  16. 16 Kaley Feb 21st, 2008 at 5:13 pm

    Count me in, Kelley!

Wes and I are expecting a little one in September!

Feels kind of far away…but it will be here before we know it.

Oh wait…Wes just told me that you already know. Oh well…

  17. 17 Candace Feb 21st, 2008 at 5:17 pm

Tim keeps trying to convince me that I want a 3rd—and I do I just 1)don’t want to be pregnant again…kinda key 2)don’t want another c-section 3)don’t want to ever have the experience again of cracked bleeding nipples. Other than that bring it on!! For now I’m enjoying a 3 year old and 9 month old. Maybe in a year or two when I’ve forgotten how it feels to carry around two engorged watermelons I’ll be ready…we’ll see. After waiting so long the first time to conceive—I am much more willing to relax and trust in God’s timing for it all.

    Due June 2nd. Girl :)

  19. 19 Kaili Feb 21st, 2008 at 7:09 pm

When I was pregnant with Jaia, EVERYONE, okay NOT everyone, but SO MANY gal friends of mine where pregnant! Nuts! So great you have friends going through the same stuff as you at the same time. That’s awesome!

  20. 20 joy Feb 21st, 2008 at 7:57 pm

First i’m due in August and i’ve got 9 friends (and counting) knocked up! so that is 10 of us holy cow! We are bringing up a new generation of the coolest kids you have ever seen. I am so excited about this! I think i’m going to start a prayer group at church for us just to learn to pray for our babies and thru our pregnancy/delivery fears. I’m so excited!

Second: i am so glad i don’t have TLC.

  21. 21 Leiah Feb 21st, 2008 at 11:28 pm

-Not pregnant (very ok with that) and now I know I never want to meet you in person because you get everyone around you pregnant. :) -Lydia is a beauty, Daddy sorta looks Eli Manningish from profile. Beautiful shot of that moment, too.
-Thanks for sharing that gross TLC story. If I dream about trees and cheese graters I’m going to be cranky.
-I know you’re busy cooking a baby and getting your house put back together, expanding your photography business and raising a 15 month old, but would you get that freakin’ etsy store up so I can buy some of your stuff??!! The sailboat onesie is simply adorable. Almost cute enough to make me wish for a baby boy!! HA!

  22. 22 christina Feb 22nd, 2008 at 8:21 am

I know quite a few people who are pregnant too. I however am not one of them. though under different circumstances I would be! Than man was kinda creepy looking eh?!

  23. 23 MO Feb 22nd, 2008 at 1:57 pm

I am due June 11th with a little boy:)

  24. 24 Jen O. Feb 22nd, 2008 at 1:59 pm

Busy gestating a fetus over here!

We don’t know what the sex is (saucy little thing had his/her legs crossed) but “it” is due July 8th.

  25. 25 Julie Nickerson Feb 22nd, 2008 at 8:05 pm

I see a little Jay in her. So sweet! Please tell them congrats for us.

No pregnancy here to report…hopefully, not anytime soon either.

I felt the same way when I was pregnant. I knew a girlfriend every month of 2007. Crazy. And 2008 is looking that way too. :)
By the way, when I have another baby can you make me that onesies with the sail boat? Is that wrong to ask you. I just love it so much! I think you have showed it before and I just think it is precious!

I also watched the Tree Man…so sad! I should have been in bed too!

(did you get my fabric email?)

Love from Woodbridge Land….hope you took a good fat nap!

    (10 weeks left!) WHAT!!!!

  26. 26 fidget Feb 22nd, 2008 at 8:12 pm

*raises hand* count me amongst the knocked up. Due at the end of June but “due” is a relative term since Ive only carried my others to 37, 37 and 35 weeks. We are also expecting a boy and every day I ask my husband if we can name him Jude Lachlan… so far he still has no name- harrumph!

You need an Etsy store that onesie is too farkin cute. i also am surrounded by preggos. What I find most amusing is that the one girl that i have been pregnant with for my other three kids is like the one unpregnant person I know.

  27. 27 Bill and Heidi Feb 23rd, 2008 at 11:37 am

Hey Kelly, we’re due March 6 and counting! I have one week of work left and then it’s home for awhile. I’m currently washing crib sheets in Dreft and getting guest towels ready for our fam when they come in for the baby. I love reading your blog..hang in there with your home-it’s coming together so nicely! Hope you’re doing well!
    Love,
    Heidi

  28. 28 Holli Feb 23rd, 2008 at 12:14 pm

TWO MORE WEEKS!!!! I agree that it’s a confirmed tragedy to be so far apart during these amazing times…keep leaving your comments begging Alex to return, he actually mentioned it the other day and I didn’t even know he was checking my blog much. I know of whom you speak for the Oct due date and I have nothing but smiles for that :) Lydia Grace is a true beauty and if you weren’t eight months pregnant, I’d be buying you a ticket to come and visit and be our paparazzi. You’re off the hook though, we will wait til August! Take care of yourself or better yet, have Ryan take care of you.

  29. 29 Abby Feb 23rd, 2008 at 9:13 pm

Due July 27th. Anxiously awaiting my next, definitive u/s!

Became an AUNT TODAY! Lyla Rose arrived around 8:30. Both she and my sister are beautiful. But man did it make me jealous…

  30. 30 Erin Feb 24th, 2008 at 12:13 pm

Oh my gosh! It seems like the whole world is preggo (by reading your blog). I am not, but maybe this fall?!?!?!
