Be still my beating heart!

Can it be? Can my little girl finally be entering the dress up stage? Oh man oh man! I have been eyeing all the expensive stores like Big Lots and Dollar Tree for months envisioning gaudy plastic jewelry all over Chloe’s body.

Tonight while I was at Bed Bath and Beyond I spied a Disney Princess “light up” tiara, necklace, earring, ring, and bracelet set. It started at $9.99, then $4.99, then we walked away with it for a meager $2.50. LIGHT UP PEOPLE!!! I’m just sayin…it is the little things and right now I need all the little things I can get to escape my dirty little renovation world. Don’t get me started….don’t even get me started. (SNL Molly Shannon…anyone, anyone?????)

She was intrigued by the light-up factor, even wore the tiara around with pride and the earrings. But then that crappy little crown decided to bite Chloe’s innocent little finger just as I was getting the camera. So what would have been a great little photo shoot turned into tears, red eyes, flat hair and constant motion pulling everything off. Oh well! This is the best I could get.

Had to use the paci to subdue the crying. One glistening tear is still in her eyes if you look closely.

Most of them looked like this.

So we finally have a kitchen ceiling. It still needs to be sanded and painted…BUT WE HAVE A CEILING!!!! Do you know how much that made my heart happy. I could have kissed Luis on his mouth last night. That man can work!!!! No pee break in 6 hours. I could never do that. Although I have to say that what I thought was a mess is nothing compared to the combination of dry wall dust and ceremic tile being ground. There are white powdery footsteps in EVERY ROOM. I sat in my living room today blinking back the tears. It is so hard for a cloud of discouragement not to decend on me each day. I know we are nearing the end…but for 5 weeks I have had my hands tied. Could we just take the two most important rooms in the house and make them unusable? I mean can you live without your full bathroom and kitchen…NOOOOOOOOOOO. This is a serious infringement on my domestic kingdom. I also think we have the black lung (pa)! All this dust…if Bennett has a third arm or only one eye we will know why.

That’s all on my front. Same ole, same ole whine, whine, whine. I do what I do best! Leave love.

Oh, little girls and tizzy outfits. I can hardly wait. (yes, there is a sense of dread in me as I type this!)

Couldn’t you find some pink tulle to dress her up in too?! Or even that spectacular leotard from a few posts back?!

Congrats on the ceiling! Yay! As a mother of a little girl, ya gotta love the cheap, plastic jewelry…we have tons of it. Yet still, so cute!

I think the paci makes it that much cuter. Glad you have a ceiling and don’t worry, those white footprints will soon be a distant memory of which we will never speak of again and GAH! I looked at your ticker for Bennett…only 88 days until you are due. That’s crazy!!! We need an updated Pretty Kelly and Her Belly shot.

Hang in there with the house. I’ve been through the whole remodel thing too and it’s horrible. I’m also quite anal about my house being clean and neat. Doesn’t make for a good combination!

No reno pics? I thought this blog claimed the good BAD and funny? Sorry it’s been so stressful, I myself have become completely numb to renovations and have given up hope of having a house that is totally “done”. Love my hubby, but I wish we had not bought a house that needed “a little work” ahh…hindsight…And don’t even get ME started on how cute Chloe looks with that big tear in her eye. I can’t believe what a little girl she is becoming…those eyes…too cute!

What a little princess she is! It fits her well. love the earrings.

Kel-I feel ya on the drywall. My house was COVERED in the white dust for weeks when we had the basement finished…and it was only completed a week before Abel was born. I was a mess. Thankfully, I had a whip (kidding…kinda) in my hands and the whole thing was cleaned up right before he popped out.

So, I know you are struggling with it all esp. since it is the main rooms. I’m sending love your way. You have my sympathy…really, you do. You are pregnant and you REALLY don’t need this.

    LOVE LOVE LOVE

So ADORABLE!! Chloe is just darling.

On another note - I have a vision of a fake, brick wall, more than a hint of a mullet and, “Men. Don’t get me started. Don’t eeeven get me staarted.”

    love you!

chloe is so strikingly beautiful and pathetically sad all at the same time. her tears are like added sparkly jewelry. if only she had one of those bling-bling pacifiers - all would be right with the world.

so glad to hear ryan took a shower the other day. it’ll all come together soon and the wait will be so worth it… hang in there a little bit longer!!

Girl! You MUST come visit before we pop. Sophia has a whole ginormous turquoise dress-up bin full of tiaras, tutus, pink feather boas & all the gaudiness you can fit in it.
    Do come down!

EVERY DAY is dress up day in our house. My personal favorite stage was the tutu wearing stage that lasted about six months. I’m so sad it’s gone.

    Awwwww….

Emily is starting to b drawn to the girly stuff too and I am SO EXCITED!!

Chloe looks adorable, especially with those glistening eyes.

You will rue the day you ever encouraged dressing up! There isn’t a room in our house that doesn’t have plastic jewellery, plastic high heels, fairy wings or some massive frock stuffed somewhere. I think the tear added to the whole Princess look though!

That picture of Chloe being forced to wear the jewels…too funny! And the pacifier…can we sing, “I’m not a girl…not yet a woman!” just for her? She’s so adorable.
