Eye on the prize

Remember this little carrot I dangled your way four weeks ago?

Giveaway for the most comments on my blog in November

Well the offer still stands. I will be tallying up your faithful comments next week to announce a winner or at least drawing the name from the few of you I am pretty sure commented on all posts this month. Maybe I should do this every month…nothing like creating blogging security by bribary. Doesn’t work in real relationships, so really, that would just be unhealthy to do it in blogland.

Giveaway for the most comments on my blog in November

I know I got a big fatty “F” on my attempts at NaBloPoMo this year and I could really care less. This month has been insane times ten and I can’t regret putting my family and life ahead of the blogosphere…..

Thank you all for your encouragement and enthusiasm on our house selling. It truly is the Lord’s hand because the market is just so so so pathetic right now and people are sitting on their houses for months and months if not a year with no offers or walk throughs…so obviously God is allowing us to get off our ghetto street. Life is grand.

So I have to tell you, on Tuesday we walked through 7 houses and we narrowed it down to two houses that we really liked but were complete opposites on pros and cons. We finally sat down and wrote a list of what was important and we kept checking off one house over the other on our check list….Oh lists….they are just the best…..we prayed together, slept on it and were 100% on the same team by the morning. We went back over to walk through both of them again just to make sure. We were in the house that we were going to make an offer on and I am literally measuring a wall for the length of our couch and coffeetable and my brother (our faithful realtor) comes inside after getting off with the selling realtor and says, “Stop what you are doing. The owner got an offer LAST NIGHT and they accpeted.” WHAT?????? One freaking night late…just hours from this house being in our name????? I was pretty shocked, sad and let myself have a brief hormonal cry. I had already decorated the house in my mind, picked out color schemes, planned BBQ’s on the patio….the whole 9 yards…and then GONE! Unbelievable.

So we have been on the hunt this week again although pickins are slim for our price range and house requirments. A house randomly came on the market Wednesday afternoon, I called my bro and we swung over there and looked through and then the warm fuzzies entered my body once again. It is an older home in the Sears Craftman style…super dooper charming and cottage-y. Nice brick fireplace with stained glass windows on both sides, 9 foot ceilings on both floors, gorgeous pine floors. The lady who bought it in April bought it to refurbish so every square inch has been painted or refinished so it is pristine clean and the colors she choose…high five…LOVE THEM!!!! I had Ryan and my mom come through a few hours later and Ryan gave me the “look”…..so we put in an offer. It was a no go on the first offer, but we revised it and put it in writing this morning and faxed it off a few hours ago…so we will see. I hate to give updates every day because it is so unsure and I don’t have the energy to write out all the highs and lows. I am praying they accept this offer. We have a closing date of December 28th…I know….we are toe-up crazy off our rockers…but Ryan has 1.5 weeks off over Christmas and the house is empty..so why not? It is only like 2 miles or less from our current house, but a couple people from our church live on that street or one block over which thrills my heart.

We are sitting with open hands and hearts for truly God has already chosen our house for us and we just need to be patient and obedient and flexible! I will let you know next week whether all Christmas cards need to be directed elsewhere or those large Christmas gifts you had planned for me. You know you want to buy me a crib and changing table for Porty…just admit it.

Remember to comment if you want to stay in the running. Merry merry weekend!

You’re amazing! And you serve and AMAZING God… I’m praying that this offer is accepted.

And I’ve already decided that *WHEN* I win the pillow, I’m giving it to my daughter for Christmas… she is just now learning to sew and she made two pillows for Christmas presents for her Granny and Great-Granny… so it will be awesome when I give her this super cute one! :)

That sounds like I’m trying to score some points… NOT MY INTENTION… but if it helps… :) Hee hee!

Cute cute pillow!! This is my first time commenting. I found your blog the other night and kept reading and looking at your pictures. You are great!!

Where did you get that owl on the floor next to the chair? It is so cute!! Not as cute as Chloe though. Love her legs!! And her hair. I have an 18 month old daughter and I am having a great time with her hair (especially after 2 boys!).

That’s a bummer about the house! Just keep in mind that God will lead you to the house you’re meant to be in. I know how stresssful all this can be, so I’ll continue to keep you all in my prayers.

I can just imagine your disappointment when basically the house meant it just being a matter of having Ryan put furniture where you want it and you’re plan would be complete! So sorry! Dreaming and scheming is my favorite part of getting a new house, packing and stacking — hate it!!!! Like others have said and you as well, God’s bundled life for you is on the course it’s supposed to be on and it sure sounds like your seeking Him. That’s the most important facet of this journey! I sure hope things work out with this new house. Crazy, crazy time frame!! :) Thanks for keeping us posted.

By the way, I’ve had a sneaking suspicion all along that Porty is a boy. So much so that when you wrote in your letter to Chloe about having a brother or sister, I was confused cause I was sure you said Porty was a boy. Crazy!! I guess it goes with the prego radar and I’m a little cuckoo. :) Have a great weekend!!

“By the way, I’ve had a sneaking suspicion all along that Porty is a boy.”

Me Too!! I would be shocked if the ultrasound said it was a girl. I have been thinking boy in my head all along.
