SOLD SOLD SOLD!!!!

Only 18 days on the market and we got our FULL asking price offer tonight. What did we say? In the immortal words of the ultra classy, Whitney Houston…”hell to the yes!” I can hardly believe this happened so quickly. It is more than we could have prayed for. The crazy thing is, we pulled the offer on our house yesterday after the inspection report came back. It was a tough decision but Ryan and I both felt unanimous that in our hearts a wall came down and we needed to walk out in faith and leave that house behind us.

On a wonderful note, I did some fancy schmancy financial footwork in our budget and what we will get to take away from our house is giving us much more freedom in our search for the “Perfect house for Chloe and Porty”. We have seven houses to look at tomorrow and one I got my good eye on. We have prayed earnestly for discernment and that Ryan and I would be united in spirit with nobody talking the other into a house….believe me…I can talk myself and anyone around me into just about anything. Good and bad trait! Give to the poor….great thing to talk people into. Jumping off a bridge….bad thing to talk people into. The consummate charming sales woman…that’s me!

So I have to be honest….blogging is going way way WAY down on the totem pole of priorities. There is so much going on and we are going to start packing this week…cuz we movin’ up peeps! We have seven great prospects tomorrow and I am confident that one of those has PORTNOY written all over it. So I will keep you posted…..still doing the pillow giveaway for November…pinky swear! Hang in there, 2008 Kelly will be new, improved and sassier than ever!

  30. 30 Prue Nov 27th, 2007 at 4:37 pm

Fantastic news that someone wanted to buy a house with such a weird doorway (!) and I am so glad that you were able to have the strength to walk away from the new perfect one when it turned out to be not so perfect. I’ll be praying that you’ll find the right new perfect house.

By the way, what’s ossifying? Porty’s bones are apparently currently ossifying, according to the thing at the top of the page….!

  31. 31 meridyth Nov 27th, 2007 at 4:54 pm

this is great news! i’m also secretly relieved that we don’t have to pack up our stuff if someone wanted to look at your house next week! hey…you’ll even have some temporary packing help. hope your house shopping is yielding some positive results! can’t wait to hear…

  32. 32 missie Nov 27th, 2007 at 7:01 pm

Prue, hope you don’t mind me answering, but it could take a while for Kelly to do it! :) Ossifying is when the bones actually become “bones”… harder instead of the soft tissue it is at first. :)

  33. 33 Lynne Nov 27th, 2007 at 7:26 pm

SOOOOO EXCITED for you guys! Hope you had a great Thanksgiving!

  34. 34 Erin Nov 27th, 2007 at 7:47 pm

YAY! I’m so excited for you guys! :-) … and a tad jealous. I wish we could have more room. Our two bedroom townhouse is a tight squeeze. Oh, the joys of living in Northern VA! boo! Maybe one day we’ll have room for guests and an actual yard. ha! A girl can dream.

  35. 35 dar Nov 28th, 2007 at 11:45 am

awwww. i’m gonna miss parking on your street.

  36. 36 oh amanda Nov 28th, 2007 at 12:29 pm

That is the best news ever! Our house is been on the market over a year–can you send some of your house-selling-faith over here?

  37. 37 Whitney Nov 28th, 2007 at 2:05 pm

OK, I would just like to take a moment and say that I work for a builder in Harrisonburg, and we have had some really cute, brand spanking new houses on the market for OVER A YEAR (www.yourwillowridge.com). Maybe this is a sign for me to move back to L’burg. Naaaaah! haha Well, maybe one day.

Good luck with the house hunt. When I was home over Thanksgiving I saw some amazing houses on the market. Decisions, decisions!

  38. 38 Lisa Nov 28th, 2007 at 9:52 pm

    Congrats. Yay!!!!
Can you email the name of the singer on the video of Chloe? Oh and the album name too. I want it for Christmas!!!!
