The Bribe

Okay, I said I wasn’t below a bribe for comments as incentive to keep me sitting at this computer including Saturdays and Sundays…good lord that is a crazy thought.

So here is the prize. Ain’t she sweet?

Giveaway for the most comments on my blog in November

The squares are by Moda, the “Urban Chic” line. It is a great mix of vintage and cottage. The colors are about as true as they get to the photo with nice poppy fuchsia, teal, white, orange and a hint of brown. The white button is a handmade polymer clay button. This pillow was lovingly made by yours truly to grace a beautiful home somewhere in the world.

Still need more convincing that you should keep commenting even on my mundane posts?

Look how sweet and cozy it looks in my little reading nook!

This is 100% cotton so you want to keep it away from the kiddos or heavy wear and tear. I think washing it may make it a wee bit lopsided. It is one of those pillows that if you are married your husband will find completely useless and annoyingly in the way and you will simply adore.

I sport the brown, yellow, and orange version in that very spot normally. I was going to sell it but fell in love with it so now it has a home here.

New pillow for sale

So there you have it. I ain’t too proud to beg as the song goes. I normally hate when people beg for comments…I mean dropping a hint here and there is one thing, but out and out asking…kinda tacky. So not only am I being tacky I am bribing you with treats. There is a sucker inside all of us. Only for November…..I am already regretting the decision as I think about how crazy this weekend will be and how in the world I will sit and think for a moment to pump out a post. I can do this…I can do this….

I will tally up at the end of the month and if there is a tie, Chloe will draw a winner. You must comment on the day it is put up before the next post arrives. ( I realize I squeak posts in around midnight some nights, so you need to comment before the next post shows up) Also, none of this bickering back and forth in the comments…CHRISSY and MERIDYTH……take it outside in the school yard! You girls are funny.

I still have more Halloween pictures and narration to put up. I haven’t exploited Chloe and Conner’s trick or treating escapade yet….that is to come.

Happy Friday faithful readers!!!!! Now get crackalackin in my comments. Tell me what you are doing this weekend to celebrate Chloe’s b-day. Kidding…tell me what you are doing in your area of the world.

OK, can you come make pillows for my house? I swear if someone held a gun to my head and told me to sew, I’d be dead. I’ve never sat in front of a sewing machine in my life. In fact, my husband needed a button replaced on one on his shirts and we had to have the dry cleaner do it because I don’t even know if I have needle and thread in this house. (I do, by the way, know how to sew on a button.) Shameful isn’t it?

But your work is lovely and cheerful!

Yo. I’m raising my hand giiirrrrrllllll. It’s been so flippin’ long since I commented!!! Love the pillows. Love the pictures. And I am SO sorry for your friends. I hear you. We went through a season like that where a handful of friends either could not have babies or they miscarried. I’ll be praying for them today.

I hope you’re doing well. I look forward to Halloween pics. :)
    Hugs,
    K

    :) The pillow is beautiful.

I am going to celebrate Chloe’s birthday by driving to Bloomington, Indiana and visit my baby son at college. Yeah.. should be an exciting time - considering I am going alone and taking a 3 years old and the drive is approx 2 1/2 hours… yeah.. I bet it takes 4 hours with her alone. Good thing I have her portable dvd player and her cd player charged and ready. oh.. and she packed her very own snacks… Halloween Candy. LOL I like I said.. this should be fun!

Oh yeah.. and I can’t wait to see some Chloe-birthday-cuteness. PICTURES!!!!

  12. 12 Cassie Nov 2nd, 2007 at 9:46 am

    gorgeous pillow :)

my weekend, is celebrating a birthday also - one of my friends from work, her son turned 18 on Monday. This is legal drinking age in Aust. so it could end up messy!

We are going to the Gold Coast and out to Dracula’s Theatre Restaurant (g00gle it if you must!) it’s a great night out with plenty of frights and laughs so i’m really looking forward to it..

although i should be sleeping now as I haven’t packed yet and have to get up early *yawn* Hope Chloe has a beautiful birthday - although i’m sure it will be!

  13. 13 Natalie Nov 2nd, 2007 at 9:54 am

Hey, you haven’t talked about what your planning to do for her party! I guess you can explain everything later in very detailed photos. :)

  14. 14 Erin Nov 2nd, 2007 at 10:13 am

You should be ashamed of yourself.

That said, turnabout is fair play, little missy.

I had utterly forgotten about NaBloPoMo until I saw your post yesterday and so I went and registered, just under the wire. I failed miserably at it last year, but I’m a glutton for punishment.

  15. 15 Kristine Weiss Nov 2nd, 2007 at 10:22 am

What am I doing this weekend? Painting the baby’s room. Nice pillow! You can enter me :) Can’t wait to see the pics of Chloe’s party. Give her a hug from me.

  16. 16 meridyth Nov 2nd, 2007 at 10:22 am

i have a great idea for a post… what is the story behind the owl/bowling ball statue under your reading nook table? where did you get it? why is it significant (if at all)? what else in your house is unique like that? i know i’ve seen some pretty interesting gadgets and gizmos in the background of many a picture… do i get extra points for making blog suggestions? yes? great!

ps…chrissy…you know i love you! wait until you get pregnant and have to wear those elastic waste pants…you will LOVE it and feel TOTALLY sexy…really…i promise.

  17. 17 Katers Nov 2nd, 2007 at 10:36 am

Boy am I glad I posted yesterday as I am now two for two and REALLY want that pillow! It’s totally something I would LOVE!
This weekend my husband and I are going to look at a single family home! YEAH! We both love it and hopefully it will be our new abode. We own a townhouse in Towson, MD now (completely new concept to me as I grew up in a big farm house in IL). And (shameful manipulation alert) if I win the pillow, I will promise to decorate a room in my new house as its inspiration! Now I’m just hittin below the belt, huh! Really though, you have a great talent with mixing colors/patterns and textures.

Can’t wait to see Chloe’s birthday pictures. I hope it’s a great day for your whole family.

Cute and I love the one with the leopard. Who would have thought it would blend so well. Can’t wait to see more pictures of your Purple People Eater!

  20. 20 Candace (aka Candy-ass!) Nov 2nd, 2007 at 11:23 am

Does it count that I think I knew you before anyone that has commented and I was there when you made-out with Joel? I really think that should count for something—like say a cute pillow. Just a thought.

  21. 21 Rachel Nov 2nd, 2007 at 11:23 am

Nothing to busy for us. Today is my husbands birthday so I need to bake a cake and pick up his present. Going to lunch with a friend and running a couple more errands. Nothing special tomorrow, but an activity on Sunday and dinner with my adoring in laws…Should be interesting for me to keep up with your posts…But you have yourself a challenge missy! Keep them coming!

  22. 22 Ryan Nov 2nd, 2007 at 12:09 pm

    Okay Kel! Who’s Joel?

  23. 23 Sarah Nov 2nd, 2007 at 12:28 pm

The pillow is amazing… I seriously might need you to hold my hand with this whole wedding color scheme. I’m actually loving the navy dress idea right now so high five for that one.

I had a good time last night! Thanks for all your help…

Oh and I am allowed to bring my own DJ so I’m gonna go send Dan a message… right… now.

  24. 24 melanie Nov 2nd, 2007 at 1:54 pm

    very cute pillow!
i would love it. i am about to start making some pillows for our place with my new sewing machine. but i’m pretty bad at sewing, so i am in desperate need of some learning. ! its my goal. to sew like kelly. :)

  25. 25 Kristin Nov 2nd, 2007 at 3:35 pm

I’m doing NaBlopoMo too! I love that I will be able to read or look at pictures from you everyday!

  26. 26 Prue Nov 2nd, 2007 at 5:07 pm

Nice cushion. Does it come with a child-free quiet reading corner too?! In our part of the world we are celebrating Chloe’s birthday by staying inside with the pouring rain, and also going to Grandma’s for lunch. I hear she is putting on a lovely baked dinner in honour of Chloe (well, maybe). Hope Chloe appreciates it!

  27. 27 missie Nov 2nd, 2007 at 5:26 pm

I am so winning that pillow! :)

We’re celebrating by working at our Shake Shack Nutrition Center, working out at the gym (!), babysitting Saturday night and church on Sunday. Can life get any more exciting than that!??!

  28. 28 Elizabeth Nov 2nd, 2007 at 6:48 pm

What a grand idea! Maybe I should do a blog about how I am kind of doing NaBloPoMo, but instead it is… NaCommOnKelBloToWiAdoPillMo. Didja figger it out?
P.S. I want to win the pillow for my adorable little girl’s bedroom…puhleeeasse can I win?

  29. 29 Amanda Brown Nov 2nd, 2007 at 7:49 pm

SCORE! If I don’t win that pillow I will gauge out my eyes with the rusty ice skates of Chazz Michael Michaels.

  30. 30 Eli Nov 2nd, 2007 at 8:07 pm

    This weekend -
Potty training my almost two year old. Her idea, not mine.

Organizing my basement. My husband’s idea, not mine.

    See a theme here??

  31. 31 Kaili Nov 2nd, 2007 at 8:38 pm

    Hello!
We are going to a Christmas craft fair and then away on a little trip to visit family. Have a GREAT week end celebrating your sweeties birth!!

  32. 32 Jude Nov 2nd, 2007 at 11:46 pm

Pick me, pick me! I love the cushion! My daughter just walked past and she loves the cushion! We all love the cushion. Well, here in Perth WA I am sitting blogging while I eat my lunch. So far this morning I have been wallowing in a quiet house where I am on my own - no kids. So I wrapped my measly pile of Chrissy gifts so far, cleaned my washing machine (yes you heard right), tidied up, filled the dish washer etc and I am just about to hang out a wash and sit in the Spring sun writing Christmas cards. Now it would all be a lot more comfy with that cushion…

  33. 33 Erin Nov 3rd, 2007 at 11:53 am

    Quite the briber, eh?

In good ole rainy WA, we are doing yard work before the rain starts, and then cleaning house. Sounds exciting! RIGHT!

Have a great weekend. Your house looks beautiful just from the few pics you shared!

  34. 34 Erin Nov 3rd, 2007 at 11:53 am

    P.S. Happy 1st bday Chloe!

  35. 35 Erin Nov 3rd, 2007 at 3:29 pm

When will the Saturday blog come? hmmm midnight? ooh the anticipation. hehe

The pillow is adorable, but it would not go with any of my stuff. So, this comment is just because I care (and I’m trying to make up for lost time) and not because of the bribe. :-) Can’t wait to hear about Chloe’s birthday!
