(WARNING…LOTS and LOTS OF PHOTOS)
Finally… sweaters, jeans, close toed shoes, socks, jackets….no need to wash your hair because you can wear fun wool hats. Now that’s what I’m talking about! I love this weather, the crisp mornings and mild afternoons. The leaves are just about to turn their glorious fall hues and I am all about it! Last year almost to the day, we took these babies.
A casual stroll through the cemetery with Chloe resting nicely on my pubic bone only days away from her grand arrival.
I am glad to be experiencing this pregnancy through opposite seasons, yet still avoiding the summer with third trimester…YES….fist pump.
I am just about to show my bump. It isn’t fully formed enough to take a picture and let’s just say I am not as anxious about showing my stomach off either….farewell six pack of yesteryear. I will happy to get out of this phase, the “suck it in honey” phase.
Because I have absolutely zero to talk about of interest due to the fact that I have edited nearly 2000 pictures over the last 2 weeks….I will just give you some Chloe eye candy. Is there such thing as Mouse Wrist Disease? I am pretty sure I have it. My hand is so cramped and sore from editing that my thumb keeps spasming. Feel sorry for me yet? I tell you what, I feel like I am falling apart. I have always felt like an 80 year old was trapped inside of me and I really feel it these last few weeks. Pathetic.
Let’s start out with my hair. This…by no means…is a dream do…it is a “this will make do….do” This was the inspiration for the hair color.
Ah yes, Kate Beckinsale….my twin. Don’t believe me. Look at this stunning resemblance.
I know, I know…it is uncanny. Kate, Kelly, Kelly, Kate…who is to say? Actually, I ruined this little photo comparison by cutting off half the picture of her. In the whole picture she has both shoulders exposed and her hand is up on her chest, like I did. However… I didn’t realize I cut her off till after I took the picture and put it online and I am far too lazy to go through the process again for the sake of a bad joke.
So here are my complaints.
A- My hair color looks nothing like the picture.
B- This is due to the fact that I go to a place called “Just a Cuttin”….so you can imagine the bargain I get on a color and cut.
C- The hair cut took away at least 5 inches off the bottom, but….there is nothing really edgy about the cut. It is basically my old style just shorter on the bottom
SO……at least I don’t have regrowth, but my hair looks a bit frosted in these pictures instead of “colored”. I am still trying to figure out how to better style this. I even took the scissors and hacked another inch off my layers and I think I need to just keep doing that till I get what I want. Someday I will have the dough to go to a really good salon and get a killer cut and color. Someday…..
So onto Chloe. I will call this next montage, “Cooking with Chloe”
Welcome to her kitchen….
Picking out the right cookbook is essential to a delicious dinner
Oh yes…this is the one…Italian!
Oh man, oh man….meatballs…yes, that is the ticket.
In her best Italian accent…” a spicy meat-tah-ball-ah”
Chloe I hate to break it to you, we are out of meat.
Can you forgive mommy for being a big disappointment in your life?
You’re the best.
Let’s go outside and play.
she looks a little googley eyed in this one. Don’t you love the can of tire spray in the background….classy!
“I’m not a witch, I’m your wife.” Name that movie
In other earth shattering news. We bought our first couch. Yes, you heard me right. When we got married I only owned a love seat because of the apartment I was in had a hairpin turn in the staircase so you couldn’t fit a full size couch up it. Believe me, I tried and I had to promptly return it to the store and buy a love seat instead. So we have only had comfortable seating for two for two years. Sad. Ryan was forced to sleep on this little number several times once he was banished from the bedroom for snoring.
Look at this…pitiful. This was actually the day after we came home from the hospital with Chloe and he had to work a 1/2 day. So tired he fell asleep like this.
and this was yesterday after work….all 6′6″ of him on the couch.
What a glorious day in our lives. Now we can invite three people over to sit, isn’t that the most exciting news you have ever heard? Thought so.

Great hair, love the couch and the movie is The Princess Bride!
Your hair looks gorgeous!
“Humperdink! Humperdink! Humperdink!” or how about “My name is Enigo Montoya. You kill’t my father. Prepare to die.” Its Princess Bride!!! What do I win?
I love that movie!
I ADORE your hair color & style! I wish mine would do something sassy like that. Mine’s too beastly to be cool; ie, humidity is not my friend.
Chloe & your play-by-play commentary are both fab, as always!
So if I come to America to I get an invite to sit on the couch?!
You are truely the funniest person I have ever “met”! Congrats on the couch! I know exactly what you mean by actually buying a couch with someone, it was exciting for me when we bought our first set together too! Chole is so beautiful! What kind of head band is that? Just a regular baby one with her hair pulled up also? Let me know!
Of coarse it’s The Princess Bride, we should know that since our daughter is named after Princess Buttercup…Zoe got sssooo excited to see Chloe!! She gasped and said “baby”!! Nice couch…one day we’ll come see it.
Oh my goodness, that one of Ryan on the small couch made me die laughing. love it! I think the cut looks great. You will love having a Spring baby. You can hide your growing tummy in warm, comfortable clothes. Get yourself some cute sweaters and rock it like I know you can! Be proud of that bump, sista!!!!
Have fun storming the castle! I love that movie and quote the “I’m not a witch” line to Patrick all the time. (Not that he calls me a witch all that often…) I so needed the giggle from that Chloe photo montage! She is the cutest thing.
I absolutely love jeans and sweaters weather, and like you, I’m so looking forward to a spring baby! It was a loooong winter trapped in the house with a newborn. It’ll be nice to be able to get out for walks with this little munchkin. Oh to have a nice, cute baby bump right now. I have the longest torso on the planet, so I’m in the “suck it in, Eileen” phase until well into month 5 when things move north a little bit and people say “oh, you’re pregnant!” Come on, bump - only 5 more weeks!! And amen to missing the summer! My feet were twice their size last November…I can’t imagine what they’d look like if I were having a baby in August!
The weird thing is that I am actually watching the Princess Bride while reading your blog…eerie….
Chloe is a DOLL! Seriously! She and Emily would be great friends. Would you come live in Amanda’s basement already?
Seriously bummed that I was so late in reading this one. Princess Bride - all over that! Oh, and… I think that this might just be the best post I’ve read today. If you do move to Amanda’s basement, then I could visit you. Also, Hunter is a nice snippet older than your doll unless Conner got her first (unless you want a Canadian boy to go with your move up North). ANNND… you… Kate… so twins!
Love ya!
I think that The Princess Bride is like a prerequisite if you are in a junior high youth group. It was seriously the most quoted thing and it was always viewed at sleepovers and lock-ins at the church. I love your new do!! It looks like with all the nice body your hair has, you can just scrunch it in the morning and go - very nice! Chole is so adorable!! I hope when I have a kid, they’ll have as much personality and sweetness as she seems to have!
The pictures you’ve snapped of Chloe are so great, especially the one with her fingers looking oh so Italian! I concur that fall really is the best season!
ah the couches of youth. our “first” couch (from IKEA - bad choice, but necessary) was purchased 3 years ago, just before we got our doggie. and then he ate it. well, not enough of it to warrant getting rid of it, so here we’ve lived, with a half-eaten couch, cushions that fall off the second you sit down, and stuffing falling out, creating a less and less comfy couch with each passing day.
I dream of the day when we can get a new one - maybe even another chair? (that one was dog-eaten too, in his puppy days) Oh the dreams.
Love the pics. Chloe is KILLING ME. love this child.
I like your hair…it looks tousled and wild. When I saw the pics (before I read the words) I thought, now that’s how I want my hair to look…full.
Your new couch looks very squishy and comfy.
Chloe looks gorgeous as usual.
you look beautiful!

the couch is GREAT!
chloe is a PEACH!!!
and the movie is the princess bride.
well. i’m late to the reading of this blog hence….you’ll never be sure that i, too, knew that it was the princess bride. i love that movie. but, alas…….you must only trust my word.
yeah. i hate to tell you that your hair looks NOTHING like hers but you are still one sassy mama. i’ve always told you that. great hair. i, on the other hand, cannot cut my own hair for the life of me. so, it’s good that you can….cough….adjust it to the way you want. i’d look like a barbie that a 3-year-old took scissors to.
love ryan on the couch! good for me when i come to visit you!!!
sweet couch! look you all grown up with your big-girl couch
I love that pic of you and Ryan!
How come when we go to get a color and cut, we have such high expectations? For me, I kind of expect to come out looking like someone else, carrying someone else’s cool handbag and wearing new clothes!
Chloe’s clothes are so adorable. I love that skirt and tights! I love tights and that headband… man, someday I need a girl!
we have the exact same couch!! we bought it the day we got home from Guatemala! we needed a nice, fluffy, comfy place to hang. it has been so wonderful! and….if it’s the microfiber version..it cleans up like a charm!!
cute hairs!!
Chloe is always dressed so cute! She is such a doll! I’m so excited that my turn to dress a girl is coming up!…And you are very fortunate you’re missing summer in the 3rd trimester with both babies! Not fun!
Hey thanks for your comment the other day! it seriously made my week! i have been looking at your blog like everyday. i LOVE your pictures!! so thank you.
Ryan can stretch out on a full size couch!! WOOOT! HOT MAMA hair cut and color, loving them both..short hair always makes you look younger I think and this is no exception, chica…you look hot! AND I think these are some of the best pics I’ve seen of Chloe. We all know she is a super cutie patuti, but these just capture her personality so well..I can’t believe how grown up she is getting.
your hair is really cute… i think if you have a good straightener, you could look just like kate. btw…pat loves kate, so you win big brownie points with him. i love chloe’s expressions! we are going to have so much fun with these two when they get together. i have a feeling she is just going to make caleb crack up all the time!
Love your new couch it looks so comfy.. I love the pic of Ryan on the lil couch but even moreso you’re gorgeous lil puppy with her hair all up in a cutesy pony tail.. were you practicing before Chloe came home?
I like you’re new do
as for the movie - i’m hopeless and had I not read the other comments and said ‘Princess Bride’ I was going for bewitched… hey it fits!
LOVE Chloe with the piggies. They so work for her! And the shot of your husband on the love seat is incredibly sad (but also kind of funny!). I have no luck with hair color so I don’t know what to say. Your hair looks nice but it definitely isn’t what you asked for.
Are you up for a color correction? (I never am)
A) YES!! tell ryan to do it. he’s got perfect hair for it. but, can he grow a full beard? remind him to keep it short, though, or he’ll look like a grease-ball biker.
B) thank you for the compliments!!!!!! because…..1- kate is my hero. i think i may, in fact, have a girl crush on her. 2- i am SO far from tan right now that it’s laughable. good lighting my friend. good lighting.
Ok…I was on the edge about a new hair look, but now I am inspired…You hair turned out very pretty! I know how easy it is to be critical of hair, though, I do it all the time!
Great pictures! And yes, you look glaaaamourous! I really like the hair, even if they didn’t get the color how you were hoping. Gee, did we pass on our looks to our little one or what? She’s so sweet!!!
You need to enter her into the Gap Casting Call. Yes…sharing this tidbit of information could make my child face some pretty stiff competition but I’ll risk it for Chloe’s sake. He’s 2 anyway, they’d be in different categories.

Love the hair. It has so much body, I’m jealous.
just saw your new bump on your flikr photos - can’t believe you’re showing already. it snuck up. of course, it will do that when you don’t know you’re preggo for a while! you look good, kel!
i was googling images for hair color and came across your site. i have to say, i really love quality of the photos of your adorable daughter, and was curious what kind of camera you are using. thanks a bunch, tai
