Let me tell you, the first time we gave Chloe a real bath she howled like a pack of wolves. I thought, “Great…she hates this!” My niece Isabel cries when you take her out of the bath because it is her favorite thing. By Chloe’s 7th or 8th bath she lightened up a bit. She didn’t love baths, mind you, but tolerated them with a displeased look on her face. This is from the child who can sleep through a plane flight with congestion and diarrhea, but can’t stand nice warm water on her skin…..QUANDARY!
When we got back from Texas I had to stay one night at my parents house. They have a huge garden tub, so I decided to fill it up and put Chloe in with me (don’t worry, there was a lifeguard on duty). Well my friends, I don’t know if the Little Mermaid I showed her inspired her…but she was a kicking fool. She LOVED it. It was hilarious!!! I would put her on her stomach and hold her head above water (smart huh…hold the baby’s head ABOVE water) and she just swam away. Her little butt cheeks looked like two buoys out to sea. She frog kicked mostly…but man was it cute.
I have since gotten in the tub with her at our house to let her swim around. It isn’t as fun in a regular sized tub and I get kicked relentlessly…but her face and squeals are so worth the brutality of her heels.
Here she is last night in her glory with her prize…the ducky she was infatuated with.

This picture is PG…but I couldn’t resist. Look at those cheeks!!!! SO CUTE…..I wish I had video to show you, it will make you smile. You just get a mid-kick shot.

Have a great weekend!

You are a talented photographer! I love your pictures.
All she needs now is a little orange sauce.
Eeek, how can you not smile when you see a pic like that!!!! Little baby butt cheeks!!!!
so it’s a little awkward reading your blog at work when you put up naked photos of my niece. i’m just sayin’. i will say… the ladies love it and think she is the cutest EVER! they start to make weird noises that i’ve never heard before.
SQUEE! Love it!
i. love. her. cheeks. (both sets)
I love her big eyes!!
Since everyone is saying what they love about Chloe I will say, I love her rolly arms! And I love your nails, but you already knew that
Hey there — check out this post http://peainapod.blogspot.com/2007/02/for-ms-chloe.html and scroll down to the bottom - there are two pictures dedicated to the amazing Ms. C!!!
I always bath with the boys (mostly just with Zander now though) My kids ALL love bathing. They literally run to see who gets there first and then won’t get out until I drag them out. SUCH cute photos
Those pictures are so, so, so cute! I love pics of squishy little baby cheeks (either end) LOL.
I loved tubbing with Hunter when he was younger. Good memories and he loved it!! Enjoy every moment!
So cute. I have always bathed with my children. Its actually some of my favorite memories. Little G LOVES to get in the tub with me. He floats on his back the most and has gotten good at not pooping on me. We are very fortunate that we have a big garden tub so plenty of space for all three of us…me and the kids. Just have to wash again once they are out because you dont feel too clean after bathing with two kids.
LOOOOVE the Chloe cheeks! so adorable! Lucy loves her bath. She has just discovered splashing and she totally digs it.
Ahh yes bath time with Landon is wonderful:) I’m thankful that he is still young for me to do that with him. He also LOVES bathtime by himself. He’s my little fish! I guess babies are used to swimming in our bellies so when they come out they enjoy the bath.
And Love baby butt cheeks, the best:)
Hey Kelly,
I had my little girl on Nov. 25, so they are close to the same age. She is such a precious little angel and I am so happy for you. I continue to read your blog because you are a Christian, and your faith amazes me. I converted to the catholic faith last year, after 24 years of the “do whatever makes you happy” mentality. I appreciate your dedication to Christ and I enjoy your honest writing. You are a beautiful woman and you have a wonderful family. Congrats!
Beth
awwwww….i love these pictures. although i have to alert you (with a giggle) to the fact that in the last picture, cute as she is, it looks like miss chloe is swimming in the toilet. tee hee.
