Hair Poll

We are at a crossroads with Chloe’s hair. We have already mourned the loss of the sides and back of her hair…but the top is still going strong. It has morphed from a mini faux hawk at birth.
This picture is at 1.5 weeks old.

Half smile

Into an adorable little curl.

This picture kills me. Her little curl is too cute. She looks so adult like

But most recently the curl is becoming this gigantic point straight up. When it is wet it is curly, when it dries and is touched…it gets all pointy. She looks more like a cartoon version of herself…than cute.

Chloe11

So a few days ago we decided after her bath to slick her hair down flat and let it dry that way. This is the result. Yeah…lucky girl…already can wear it curly or straight. Please don’t mind the SERIOUS 80’s pattern on her Johnny Jump-up…it was free…we aren’t looking a gift horse in the mouth.

I LOVE my jump-up

This expression kills me, I can’t even think of an adequate caption for it. Too funny.

This expression is too much. Turn up your hearing aide Chloe

Where did my upper lip go?

I also decided I would go with the flow of the stick up hair and just jazz it up with a barrette. Here are some samplings with this little do.
OOOHHHHH that dimple…it will be the end of me.

That sweet, sweet dimple

Who me???

Who me????

So I need input people….which look says, “Hey I’m Chloe and I am dag gone cute!” None of those Neutral Nancy comments, please, about her looking good no matter what. I need finite opinions here. We are dealing with a very limited supply of hair here. Do we wear the high curl, the flat to the head or the barrette sprout? Choices, choices, choices…..

really, my only response is this: i am already jealous of her and she hasn’t even made 6 months! it takes me so much to look good with curly OR straight hair.

she looks good with both! but, i am a personal fain of the hawk in any form. do it. curly girls rule.

You should change it up. Different days, different styles.

I like the barrette style, which is funny because it’s not something I *usually* like on babies. The “flat” look makes her look SO young, but you’re right - the pointy curl thing looks cartoonish.

The curl. OMG the CURL! Too cute for words. She is absolutely adorable. I think I love looking at her almost as much as my own baby!

    THE CURL!!!

the straight hair right now looks like a baby combover. don’t do it!

    that is all… carry on.

kelly — her expressions are beyond hysterical! i LOVE how expressive she is!!!!

    BARRETTE ALLLL THE WAY!!!

  7. 7 Erin Feb 20th, 2007 at 6:55 pm

Go with the curl or the barette. The flat thing looks like a very teeny LU pastoral major grad.

  8. 8 Candace Feb 20th, 2007 at 7:31 pm

My vote is for the barrette - she looks so adorable, and only at that age can it look so great, right?

  9. 9 Madeline Feb 20th, 2007 at 7:49 pm

It’s a tie between the curl and the barette. ^_^

  10. 10 Amber Feb 20th, 2007 at 8:00 pm

Oooo..She is just so darn cute in all 3 styles! She really has many options for variety so you’ll never get bored.
But I vote for the barette style…makes her look like a Cabbage Patch Doll or Pebbles from the Flintstones! So adorable!

Oh good heavens - any old baby girl with hair can wear it flat… but the clip and the curl… yeah that’s personality!!! Go with those!

And yes I’ll say it again - she is too cute!!! If only I could put a clip in Avi’s hair :-)

kewpie curl all the way. i feel like it is the feature i noticed first about her back in november…signature style at such a young age…lucky girl. :)

  13. 13 Brooke Feb 20th, 2007 at 9:00 pm

I like the barrett. The kewpie curl is starting to look cartoonish to me.

I would do whatever she will allow for the day. She is cute no matter what.

I love the Ed Grimley look myself. Miss G had the same curl when she was a baby. I need to send you a pic. Any way you do it she looks so super cute. I need to also send you some bows she can wear in it.
As for the Johnny Jumpy thing…I would be very cautious about using it. I took Miss G to a chiro when she was little and he told me about how horrible those things are on a developing spine. I hate to spoil the fun. At that age their necks are so unstable. You know just how they can get shaken baby syndrome…its the same thing when they are jumping in those things. Very dangerous. I am surprised they still sell them. I wish more people knew the truth about them.
Ok you probably didnt want to hear me preach but you know I love you!

The barette looks the best Kell, but change it round and keep er fresh :)

Different styles…you are lucky to be able to play with it. I like the barette most though. Very girly

I think she’s beautiful any way you do her hair. I just can’t decide.

  19. 19 MO Feb 21st, 2007 at 8:45 am

Love the barrette! It is too cute:)

  20. 20 Heather Feb 21st, 2007 at 10:16 am

Barrette! Trust me on this one… my now 5 year old, who speaks and behaves as though she were 9, once let me put her hair into cute braids and barrettes. That time for me is now only a mere memory. Seriously, keep the barrette look going for now. There will soon be a day when you want to style her hair all cute-zie and she’ll fight ya tooth and nail. Enjoy it while she’s still such a good sport. When she’s into her “own” style she’ll be able to wear it flat!! hehe, anyways, love the posts.. she’s sooo adorable!

    Delurking because this issue can’t be ignored :) . . . .

The barrette doesn’t seem as natural - its more of a dressed up style. It screams “my mom did this to me.” I think the curl is the best way to go. Its original to her and it matches her cute little bama buldges.

Plus, my hair hurts after it is in a barrette too long so I dont have a good relationship with them.

Love the barrette! It is too cute! I wish I had a little girl to use one on. :) Of course, I am partial to curls, too. I would alternate between the two since variety is the spice of life. The flat hair just doesn’t look very “Chloe” to me. :)

  23. 23 Heather Hammond Feb 21st, 2007 at 2:28 pm

i’m voting for the straight and sheek look. when her hair is up and curly it makes her face look really long - and reminds me of a Who. It’s cute, but more cute because she’s an infant - it would be perfect for Halloween. Or Christmas. The straight look is sheek and real. It says, “yeah, I’m cute and I know it and I don’t have to prove it by doing fancy things to my hair.”

not that i have an opinion or anything. :)

and, if you ask me in a few weeks, I’ll change my mind. You know how I am with my own hair (which, by the way, I am growing out again).

  24. 24 Kimberly Feb 21st, 2007 at 3:02 pm

I vote for the natural curl, with a barette thrown in now and then. Love all of Chloe’s facial expressions in her photos these days. She’s too cute!
