So what can your dog do? Well maybe she’s not a superhero, but I think her teeth are made of titanium. She was always a toy-chewer since we got her, but then she developed an insatiable appetite for plastic. She doesn’t chew it and spit it out, she chews and swallows. LARGE pieces I might add. There are times she has made herself incredibly sick. This is another reason why we call her our little dumpster dog. I am convinced we can not buy her anything nice.
Exhibit A- her crate (her third crate!)
We can’t even latch it on the top anymore because there is no top. Not one shred of plastic has been found laying around. She EATS it. She lost her privileges on the golf balls she used to play with because she peeled them bare. It is amazing to me that her gums don’t bleed or her stomach explode.
Anyone else have a pet with an iron stomach and steel teeth?
I hate it for you I do because we have the biggest dumpster diver alive. Our english bull terrier will eat anything. Plastic, nails, glass, it doesnt matter. For some reason he doesnt chew his crate…THANK GOD but I dont know what to tell you because he has almost died twice from blockages. The first time he ate one of G’s pacifiers as a baby..the whole thing and it plugged his colon. 2K later and lots of work he made it. Then just recently he ate a piece of plastic off a flower pot and thankfully they were able to scope it and pull it back out his mouth. Sure he has eaten a ton of things that came out just fine like a dolls arm, half a queen size sheet, a bra, socks, etc but eventually it almost took him down. I cant imagine a little dog doing that but what can you do? I hope she never gets blocked but I have a feeling if she is swallowing that stuff she just night one of these days. If you dont have pet insurance then GET IT NOW!!! Thats my best advice because without it our dog would have put us in serious debt!!!
Hey you know what I would totally do like tomorrow??? Get one of those metal crates!
Hey, Charlotte owes Berkley a toy. Five minutes after she was at our house she grabbed a little rubber toy Berkleys had since we got him and made a giant hole in it. I think Charlotte is part Pirhana!
But through it all we still love her and can’t wait to see her again. Really.
that crate is looking pretty sad! Oscar has a metal crate so he hasnt tried chewing it (might be a good investment), but he loves our shoes! He has actually been pretty good so far, but I think hes getting worse as he gets older. Where do you put your crate…We have ours in the living room and its such an eye sore. He wont sleep if its in the bedroom because he wants to be in the bed…as i sit here typing about how good he is hes demolishing one of those black and white gateway boxes…sigh…
The funny thing about Charlotte is that she is so lady like in appearence. You would never know shes part might mouse!
